Far left is the Dock, to the right of that is the Sidebar. The main part is a split screen, I leave it like this all the time. On the right I have Info and a permanent Preview. Since I am a graphic artist I like the visual look of large icons (and have LOTS of custom icons) and I REALLY like having Preview always available, that is probably my biggest time saver. And the PF Preview will view just about any file, far more than Apple's Quick Look will.
Not seen is the the fact that I use PF's Application Launcher all the time and also the search function, which gives me Previews as well. I also have Search on the main screen set for the folder I am in so I don't have to look for a file but can just type in the name and it's right there.

I love the split pane view as well. Reminds me of my Directory Opus 4 days on the Amiga. :)

I appreciate your posting your Layout. I just purchased PF yesterday and am very new to it. I didn't know you could put the Dock on the left. I did experiment a little with the icons and found the preview most helpful. I'm anxious to learn all the details so if you have any suggestions as to the quickest way to learn, I'm all ears. Thanks again for showing us your Layout! :)

Nice layout. As a new user to PF, can you tell me how i move the preview pane to the right side, whereas at the moment, it comes up at the bottom of the PF window?
Thanks

Ditto. How do you get the dock on the left of the sidbar. I have the Shelf open there and don’t see it as a choice in the drop down menu. Any help?

The Dock to the left is part of the Mac OSX, not Path Finder. Go to the Apple in the top, left corner click and hold, scroll down to Dock and it will list positions for the Dock.
For Preview look at the controls on the bottom left of Path Finder, but not the far left. If you have the sidebar open it's to the right of the sidebar. You'll find 6 little icons that are, from left to right; Toggle Sidebar, Dual Browser, Toggle Preview, then left bottom and right drawers. If you move the cursor over the icons without touching you will get the little yellow pop ups that say what each icon is.
Click off the Toggle Preview button to get rid of Preview at the bottom then click on right drawer and it will pop out. You'll see 2 sections and at the top of each section are drop down menus that let you choose what each section does. I have Info on the top and preview on the bottom. But there are several others to choose from.
You can also drop out drawers on the left and bottom to do the same so you can customize all you want.

Thanks for the info Kevin :)
It always looks so easy,- when you now how!
Although I have only had PF for 48 hours, its already changed the way I interact and view items on my MacBook Pro. I'm so pleased I came across it.
Thanks again

I also meant to say in my reply to you, that the real clincher for me with PF is the dual browser feature. I moved over to Apple computers about five years ago, having worked with Microsoft operating systems right back to early MS-DOS days and all Windows incarnations from Windows/386 up to Win XP Pro, (as well as Vista on my wife's laptop) and will never go back to it. Never.
But one feature that i have hated not having, was the ability to open two windows and toggle them to line up side by side, whilst filling the whole of the screen estate. This was so easy in Windows and took a couple of seconds, whilst in OS X, you have to open two windows independently, resize them, and then line them up next to each other, ~ and this took time and was never nicely balanced.
But now PF solves that problem, and for that alone, I will be buying the program.
