I'm new to PF4 and TIger. In PF3 on Panther, I used to be able to View Invisible Files, navigate to User/.Trash and delete individual files/folders.
In PF4 when I try to do this the file/folder just reappears immediately in .Trash.
Anyone know what preference pane I have to fiddle with to fix this.
Thanks for your help.

Why are you navigating to .Trash to delete your files? You can just right-click on the Trash on the Desktop (which actually represents the contents of this .Trash folder) and choose delete, or secure delete. Or you can open the left drawer and click on the Trash there. No need to switch on invisibles, etc.

Because I want to delete some, but not all of the files in Trash. i.e. some I'm not sure i want to delete them permanently yet by emptying/secure deleting the entire Trash.

What I do is select the item I want deleted and use the Command menu's "Delete..." command. You could also add the "Secure Delete" toolbar item to your windows (it isn't enabled by default) and choose the "Normal Delete" security level.

Hey christefano,
Thanks! That worked and is exactly what I was after.

Is it possible in Path Finder to delete a file or files from the Trash without having to completely empty the trash?

Figured it out. Command line or else right there in the menus.
