When I used the Finder, I used to drag the icon for my home directory into the Dock next to the Trash icon because I found it more convient to use than the Finder's icon. Now I've quit the Finder, it reopens when I click the Home icon rather than Path Finder. I've tried dragging it there again from Path Finder but it still opens in the Finder.
Is there any way to force it to open in Path Finder?

To make Path Finder intercept calls to the Finder Go to /Applications/Path Finder/Contents/PkgInfo
and change APPLPFdR to FNDRMACS.

For this simple operation it's not necessary to entirely make the Finder replacement: you can just create a Path Finder alias (go to menu File -> Make Path Finder alias) of your Home directory and put it in the Dock - it will always open in Path Finder instead of Finder.

That's perfect, thank you!

The Path Finder alias feature is great! One thing I can't figure out, though — how do I get the alias to open in an existing Path Finder window (ideally as a new tab), rather than opening a second window?
Thanks in advance!

Drdul said it. I agree and am waiting to find out how to do that.
