Hi,
If you enable "Path Finder Desktop" you will see MkConsole output is not visible as it is visible on Finder background.
There is a very easy workaround for this:
From its prefs set "Display above desktop icons" on
MKConsole which is freeware and opensource for interested is at:

You can also turn off the Path Finder desktop background (in the View Options for the Desktop) and this will make the Path FInder desktop transparent, allowing you to see through to the system desktop.

Not really a good idea. If I do that on my box, I end up with duplicate icons.

Oh, I forgot the other thing you need to do is deactivate the Finder's desktop icons. You can do this using a free tool like Tinkertool, or by entering the following in the terminal and restarting the Finder:
defaults write com.apple.finder CreateDesktop -bool false

Oh yes, I now remember. I had double icon stuff and used this workaround.
But it really seems setting my workaround in MKConsole is much more practical and hassle free. That is in case you don't run MkConsole 24/7
I had also a local bug (Don't know if Apple fixed) that was preventing me disabling finder desktop but it is OK now on 10.4.4
As Path Finder memory usage/cpu usage is amazingly improved (in good way!) in latest version, I will keep it running 24/7 so turning off Finder desktop.
It will also prevent "too much icons on finder desktop makes windowmanager go nuts" bug :)

Wow, I say "Weird". I noticed Finder Crash.log hitting 287 kb...
Yes, when I disable desktop, my Finder crashes.
I better report it to Apple yes?
