I've got my 20 "most wanted" items (apps, folders, volumes) in the Shelf.
So, what am I supposed to have in the bookmarks folder?
How do you use them?

Right now, the only purpose I see for the bookmark bar is to show the left & right drawer buttons.

I use the bookmark folder for folders that contain items that I access a lot. So my documents folder is there as I access sub-folders of it often. You can get to a folder's items in the shelf too via the contextual menu, but the bookmark shelf is a bit faster.

Same use here, the shelf is for frequently accessed files/folders while the bookmarks bar for folders whose content/subfolders I need to browse frequently.
