This may be a stupid question but is there a way to stop the volume windows from opening when a network volume is mounted either in PF4 or Finder.
I can't find a hackie that prevents this and I hate all the friggen windows that open when I mount 7 volumes....
PF4 is great - I can't believe how fast it is. Great job!!!
Thanks

Go to Path Finder --> Preferences --> Browser Preferences & uncheck "Open mounted volumes in new window." To further cut down on window clutter, you could also uncheck "Always open folders in a new window."

One thing I hate about OS X is when volumes are mounted, a window is opened for each mounted volume from a server. I did the suggestion you recommended but that only switches the current directory to a new directory of the mounted volume.
This really bugs me as I can have 10 server volumes mount on login and have to close all the windows. Ya, Option X button does close them all, but it still bugs.
I know there is an app or a utility that blocks a window from opening when a volume is mounted. It is another Path Finder type app. Not sure what it's called but if you can fix this issue, I would buy this app again. It bugs me that much!!!
Thanks

Under Browser Preferences, uncheck "Open new browser on launch" as well as "Open mounted volumes in new window." That should stop it from opening.

i can't seem to get this tip to work for me.
the suggestion to uncheck "Open mounted volumes in new window", unless i'm mistaken, seems to only be related to when you do a "connect to server" and choose a volume from the dialog. but i think the original question, and mine, has to do with mounting server volumes via aliases, eg. in startup items.
i have two network volumes i need to mount sometimes. i dragged them into the dock, so now to mount them i just click the icon in the dock. but it always starts the finder and opens a window.
how can i stop that from happening? i tried to do "Make Path Finder Alias" but it doesn't seem to work for volumes. doing the full finder replacement isn't a good option for me.
am i missing the point of this tip? should i be trying to mount them in some other way? thanks...
