So far the new Path Finder is great, congratulations to Steve, Neil + Miho! :D
it's not without issues though, so i've decided to take a picture of a few things concerning PF4... cosmetic issues/bugs/wishes/... (i've sent an email earlier, but was wondering if other users feel the same way which is why i do this in the forum :P)

i hope this speaks for itself.
the most annoying thing for me is that items openend from the shelf/sidebar/... go to the leftmost column (a "feature" which was added in the PF3 time IIRC). in PF4 though, the horizontal scroll bar doesn't show though, which makes it worse.
the second best thing to auto-resizing columns is to have columns that are set to proper size by the user, in my case that's a narrow column to the left (volumes have short names for me), a little wider second one (mostly for folders withing volumes), and yet wider third (most files with long names are at this level).
if items opened "expanded"/with the full path shown it would look like this. note all columns are wide enough. ;)

i'll just continue listing stuff i find... hopefully i don't sound too negative, overall i love the upgrade!
contextual menu:

more suggestions:
- resizable "get info" window
- "get info" inspector (as in the finder: info for multiple items in one window)
- quicktime controller in preview *column* if appropriate
- option of small folder icons in bookmarks bar (to the left of text - similar to site icons in camino's bookmarks bar - contrary to the safari bookmarks bar)
cheers, oliver

Yeah, quite a few of these things are on our to-do list. The UI issues you mentioned in the first screenshot, however, might no be fixable. Specifically I'm talking about the weird little gap at the top of the column - that only appears if you have small scrollbars activated, and it's an OS bug. We've filed it with Apple already, so hopefully...
I'm not 100% sure if we can fix the issue with the background colour of columns - that's another OS limitation, but maybe Steve knows a workaround.

There's a gap at the top of columns even it the scroll bars are of normal (big) size. The gap is smaller, but it is there!

Hi boli.
A little off-topic but:
thank you for the screenshot, it newvar came to my mind to put droplets and scripts in the shelf along with files and folders… find it very useful!
silly of me, and I wanted to thank you for the idea…

those don't bother me much, being of cosmetic nature. :)

this would be nice, and a tick more important than the other cosmetic stuff i mentioned IMHO.
but my personal highest priority request definitely is an option to not open stuff in the first column (first vs. second screenshot above). :) thank you for your dedication, i appreciate you being here and replying to customers.

no problem, i'm glad somebody found it useful. :)
"a better finder rename" is the bomb, i use those droplets all the time. in earlier PF versions i used to have a separate shelf with even more droplets *hint hint ;)*, but with version 7 of ABFR (and its multiple renaming steps in one go) i can do with less... =) and with PF4 i have to, although that's not an issue (even less so if the drop stack could be hidden, but i said that already :))

So far, I agree with everything noted by boli. In an effort to keep everything in one thread, I will paste what I had posted in this thread (http://www.cocoatech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3839#3839) here:
I'd like to add three more requests (the only things I miss from the Finder so far):
1. An inspector-style variant of the Get Info window (Finder: Command+Option+I).
2. The notation of PowerPC or Universal Applications in the Get Info window (this is new to 10.4.4).
3. The ability to get a multiple item Get Info when more than one item is selected (showing collective size, etc.)
Otherwise, this release is absolutely fantastic! I hope you all get very rich off this release (because clearly a lot of time has been put into it).

Finder's inspector (1) can do (3), would you want separate features for this? :)
update: (i'm kinda answering my own question): the inspector's get info window is dynamic, so one can not have two bunches of files and get two collective get info windows on them... not a problem i've had, but worth noting the difference.
