A PathFinder alternative until PF4?

Does anything like this exist? Coming to OS X just 3 months ago from a Linux/BSD background I have been horrified by how weak Finder is and desperately need something with a bit more poke in it. Something like KDE krusader (but for os x of course) would be ideal if anyone is fimilar with that.

I am using PathFinder 3 (latest build) very happily under Tiger.

I don't think you will lose anything if you try it. It doesn't "install" various places, if you see any problem you can remove it. (Of course remove from startup first if you enabled)

As its coded pure OS X Cocoa way, it uses system frameworks. So in fact, it is even faster and more stable under Tiger 10.4.3
