Cocktail goes nuts and makes whole system nuts if Finder is not running at certain pilot etc options.
Just launch finder and run cocktail.
(in case you have pathfinder set to quit finder when launched, NOT DEFAULT)
Reported to cocktail author, he acknowledged. Also easy to fix that bug, I believe he will soon.
