deletion

Each time I try to delete a file using pathfinder I am told I don't have permission to make this deletion. What am I doing wrong?

You're trying to delete a file you don't "own". In either Finder or Path Finder do a "Get Info" on the file or files you're trying to delete, then click on the "Permissions" tab. If it doesn't show you as Owner, you'll have to change that. Make sure also that you've got Read and Write permissions - I don't remember right off the top if you need Execute permissions to delete, but it can't hurt to set that while you're at it.
