This is a comment regarding the behaviour of the "Browser accepts window-activating click" behaviour in 3.0.1 (for Jaguar, don't know if it has already changed in PF 3.1).
I don't like the collapsing of the columns to the one in which a window-activating click occurs. On the other hand, I'd like to be able to drag files from an inactive window without activating it (and thereby having to bring it to the front).
Is there a way to have PF react the way the Finder does, i.e. detect (and allow) drags from inactive windows without having to activate them first, but NOT interpret an activating click?
When I turn off said option in PF, dragging of e.g. files from an inactive window is unfortunately no longer possible, though the remaining behaviour is what I'd like to have.
Maybe I'd be already happier if column view would not collapse to the column where I clicked in an empty location below the existing items, but only change display when actually clicking an item (here: Folder) in it. Since I need the "drag-from-inactive-window" behaviour, I'm currently finding me constantly looking for an "innocent" window frame or title to click when I just want to activate a browser window without wanting it to change its current contents.
Regards, Christian.
