I have several system volumes on my computer (I keep a 10.1 and a 10.2 in addition to my current Panther system.
The Open With... submenu shows several copies of each application, so I can't know which copy is going to be started. For example I see three copies of "Fireworks".
What would be useful: add the name of the volume to the app name if there are multiple copies of the app in the menu (or for that matter, add any differentiator). This way I could see:
FireWorks -- /Applications
FireWorks -- /Volumes/Jaguar/Applications
FireWorks -- /Volumes/Puma/Applications
Even better, display the version info along with the name. This is especially important with Apple apps: you can have an old system with an outdated version of iPhoto for example, and you want to make sure you'll "Open With..." the latest one.
