I have a couple suggestions.

It would be nice if you could have a "smart shelf". A shelf that would automatically give you your... say, top 10 or 15 most frequently used files, folders and/or applications (Being able to set the number of items displayed in the shelf, and whether you want to include one, a couple, or all types of files.). Similar to how iTunes Smart Playlists work.

It would also be nice if you could create "Smart Shelfs" with options like, most recently used files, folders, and/or applications

And maybe even be able to sort the contents of folders by those same parameters (I guess that would be just adding the Frequency and Recency options to the "sort by" menu option.)

I'm not sure if its possible but man would it be nice.

I really like this. Also, a feature to Pin the item to the start menu...um, er, I mean shelf would be nice. :D Not everything M$ does is evil :D

The "smart item" concept is definitely on our to-do list and has been for a couple of months. I started working out some concepts for this a few weeks ago, so it should make an appearance sometime soon...

Hey, that would be a cool feature!

I think time would be an important factor with the "smart shelf" -- the document that I have opened 20 times this week is more important than the document I opened 50 times last year.

Perhaps instead of the top most frequently used files, it should be the files used the most within a certain time frame (this month, this week, etc).
