Right now, we've got the option to "copy to..." or "move to..." I'd like the option of "copy from..." and "move from..."
IOW, I'd like to be able to be working in a folder, click a button, negotiate a navigation window, select a file/folder in a different folder than the one I'm in and have it copied or moved to my working folder.

This is an interesting idea, though I don't personally believe it would be super useful to a large number of users. I could be totally wrong though; I'll add it to the to-do list and see what the developer thinks.
Thanks for the suggestion!

While we're on the subject of copy and move ...
I think the replacement prompts could be improved. In Windows XP, when replacing a file, it shows you the existing file's information (size, modification date, creation date) and the new file's information.

That's a great idea. On the to-do list with you!

While we're at it...
In the finder there is a nice option when you copy/move a file to a folder for which you don't have write permissions : It asks you for an administrator account and then copies the file after successful authentication. Currently the file is just turned into a puff window when dragging it from the dropstack or from the original location.
I like this feature when installing a file when I am logged in as an non-admin user.
