I see three separate options for opening a get info window. I would like to see a chioce in the preferences for all three:
Select 10 files and get info. 10 windows open, 1 for each selected file (current Path FInder implementation)
Select 10 files and get info. 1 window opens saying it contains a selection of 10 items. Editing permissions / open with application / file type and creator codes results in updating of all 10 files. (current Finder 10.3.x)
Select 10 files and get info. 1 window opens saying it contains a selection of 10 items. The difference with this is that if I change the selection now, the get info window updates to reflect what I just selected. Subsequent calls to get info results in bringing that single window to the front, but there can never be more than one window open. (Former Finder 10.0.x)
I see uses for all 3, and I would even like to be able to switch between the three types. Though, I, personally would use the second one more often, I think. What would also be cool is if things like ID3 tag editing were added to the get info window, multiple selections in one window would allow for immediate updating of the Artist / Album / Genre fields, making ID3 tag editing much easier.
