Can you burn a CD from PathFinder like you can from the finder . . . I tried but just got the eject symbol when inserting a blank disk . . . and when I put something on it it indeed just ejected without burning . Is this normal behaviour?

Yup - this is coming in the next version of Path Finder, due in about 3-4 weeks.
