How does the Pathfinder window close?

I have Pathfinder on two computers at home. When starting up one computer, Pathfinder starts up automatically and briefly appears on my screen and then the window closes. This is what I want. On the other machine, when I boot up, Pathfinder stays open on my desktop and I have to manually hide the window. What do I need to do to make to the Pathfinder window hide after the program has opened?

Open preferences in PF go to Browser preferences and make sure that the option "Open new browser on launch" in not checked.
