There seems to be a bug in the List view sorting. When I click for alpha sort (either ascend or descending) the sorted list of items seems to almost always leave one or out of sequence item listed first. This is repeatable.
(I could send a screen snapshot.)

Though, based on another thread, perhaps this has something to do with the different kinds of files? In any event, if I ask it for Alpha sorting, it seems that it should sort alphabetically.
My example, disk volume level, it lists my DiskUtility alias first, then QPict Media (application) second, then all the folders alphabetically, then all other text and SIT files alphabetically. It seems strange to have those two items hanging up there first, before the folder grouping. Thx.

Check out the Smart sorting preferences in the Browser prefPane of Path Finder - in the bottom right hand corner, there's a little list that you can drag and drop items around to arrange how Smart Sort will order things.

Neil, Thanks for the speedy pointer to the Prefs/Browser/Smart Sort Order. I didn't notice (or understand) that before.

I have moved the list sort suggestions I had originally typed into this message over to the SUGGESTION BOX forum. Please see the new topic: Browser List Sort Enhancement.

Thx.
