Okay, how cool would it be to hit a hot-key and have a Quake-style terminal come rushing down from the menu bar? It'd be sort of like a drawer, but not attached to a window. Think DragThing drawers. You could have a tab bar across the bottom of it to allow for tabbed terminal switching.
