Is it normal for Path Finder to be taking up to 20-30% of CPU while it's inactive? The Finder goes to 0% when inactive. Seems a little high. After logging out/in Path Finder goes back to a normal reading. So why the spike especially when inactive? How often is a log out needed to remedy this?

I have the same issue. %cpu near 40%.

I quit and restarted Path Finder and the % went down to normal. While it was occurring, the 'kernel_task' was up high too, mirroring the % usage of Path Finder.

Something that needs to be looked into.

peace.

I've seen this kernel_task at 100% too, mostly after waking from sleep. I don't believe it's a Path Finder issue, but I'll pass it on to the developer to look into.

Thanks!

One more thing - try running the SampleReporter application when the CPU is really high. Sample Path Finder, and email the output - it'll help the developer figure out what's going on.
