From the developer: I'm not going to leave out killer features just because they won't work under an old obsolete OS.
An old obsolete OS? Jaguar is barely over a year old. Your excuse is laughable. Can I have a refund since you left me with this buggy, piece of **** software? How Microsoft can Cocoatech ***** be?

Steve:
Perhaps you should give people the option of downloading older versions of PF. That way, noone would feel obligated to keep up with Apple's OS updates.
That should satisfy our foul-mouthed friend.

The older version is still downloadable - it's available on the downloads page:
http://www.cocoatech.com/download.php
And here's a direct link to the download:
http://www.cocoatech.com/products/Path_Finder102.tgz
There are many applications that require OS 10.3, and Steve's decision to move to 10.3 doesn't magically stop the earlier version from functioning, so while I can understand someone being disappointed, comparing a lone developer to Microsoft and its seemingly unlimited programming resources seems a bit knee-jerk.
But, what do I know.

A message in support of Cocoatech developers.
Civility and respect is a first requisite in real communications - so the user who writes with foul language discounts his reliability. And developer/moderator is within rights to edit such posting.
Second, I agree with developer that (a) the older version for Jaguar (v 3.0.1) is still available and works FINE -- that is the one I am using now.
(b) that new features will frequently be built to latest version of operating system. This is normal. Adding some of the features to older versions for the prior operating system would likely require higher fee and more staff. A fact of life with OS development and upgrades.
Lastly, in the personal posts or email requests I have made to the Cocoatech developers, they have been admirably responsive.
Way to go, keep up the good work guys.
(I just wanted to write this one to show support, Neil, Steve, et al. 8^)
