Would there be any way to have Path Finder automatically generate thumbnails for image files? It gets irritating needing to use another third party program to do this, and I was just wondering.

I would like to see this feature too. I hope this will be implemented in the future...
@ Bonafide: which 3rd party apps do you use - are they compatible with pathfinder?

Looking at how old this thread is, I'm hoping this has already been added to the current version (3.2.2) and I'm just not seeing the setting to turn it on... otherwise, it seriously needs to be added.

As for generating the icons, this command works for me:

sips -i *.JPG

The sips program is part of OSX 10.3. It's a command-line program which provides simple graphics operations- scaling, rotating, generating thumbnails, and so forth. There is no man page for it (bad Apple!) but "sips -h" gives a quick run-down on what you can do with it.

I've also noticed that it works well with JPG, PNG, and TIFF images, but seems to have issues with some GIF files (one more reason to start using PNG files instead of GIF.)

This will be in Path Finder 4 (coming soon in the indeterminate future :) ).

i use pic2icon (google it, i don't have the URL)

works really well, supports drag and drop onto the dock and/or main program window, batch jobs (did my entire pictures folder in about 5 minutes) and anti-aliasing.
