Unix et al. orthodoxy taken into account, from time-to-time I would like to open a PF window/view as root (***please before anybody replies with “launch as root” option !!!, continue to read and pause for a second, what I’m asking is very different***) , say with a very light transparent red background as an indicator, to perform directory/file actions graphically instead of having to drop to a terminal and use command line tools.
I don’t want to be logged in all the time as root (à la Lindows), but it would be nice to have a PF “view” as root sometimes, perhaps also with a programmable time out to revert automatically to non-root mode (in case one forgets).
While at it, could be root or even as another user.
