ISTR seeing something about this a month or two ago. I can add a button to an application (Word, say) in the toolbar, which lets me launch Word from any Path Finder window with a single click. Handy. What would make it even handier would be if I could then drag a file onto that button & have it open in Word. As things seem to work now, all that does is add that file to the toolbar. Is this a doable thing?

I just tested this and it worked for me. I dragged the Word icon onto the toolbar, and then dragged a word doc on top of the toolbar Word icon. It opened in word as expected.

Maybe I'm just being a sloppy dragger. I'll have to check that and, if necessary, withdraw the suggestion.

OK, I think I've got it figured out. If you set your Customize Toolbar to use icons or icons & text, you can drag & drop a file onto an application to open it. However, if you use text only, like I do, it appears that it adds the file to the toolbar instead. Weird. Is there a modifier key to change this behavior?
