Wouldn't it be more usefull to integrate the drawers into the main window then to have to make them pop-out and resize the main window to accomodate them ?
Thank's

I've thought about this. I'm not crazy about the drawers either, but integrating might make the window look too busy. I'm still thinking about this.

Hi...
Instead of putting drawers into the main window, perhaps they could tear off, or parts of them could..
Nisus Writer Express is doing this. It seems like a handy way to have keep some "drawers" available onscreen. They could even show up this way as a selectable default.

So what would be the difference in doing that than just using the floating windows which are options right now?

The preview pane shouldn't be a drawer if you're in column view.

You know, I was thinking about the drawers, and I was wondering if it might not be possible to modularize PF a little more, and have the locations of the modules be configurable. For instance, a user could decide whether he wants mounted volumes to be shown in the drawer, like it is now, in the sidebar like the Finder, or not at all. The same would be true of the Shelf, the Drop Stack, the Processes, and the Preview (which would resolve the Preview column/drawer debate as well.

good idea, if in column view preview should be in column to right of selection.
