I have to send large files to a lot of clients who run XP on their machines and XP doesn't recognize the .tgz (GZIP) format. Any way to incorporate the Finder's .zip compression or change Pathfinder's compression default to .zip?

Thanks.

I'd like this too.

Also to be able to compress a file or folder into a dmg - i don't want to make a disk image, mount it, drag the file in there and then eject this. Similar to the functionality of DropDMG. I can just drag and drop and it does it all for me.

Sure, just save it with the extension .zip

it automatically changes it!

I'm adding .zip compression very soon. Sorry for the delay, I've also been working with Aladdin to integrate StuffIt.

Does just adding .zip use the Panther Finder zip? Those are bad zip files. WinZip and StuffIt Expander have problems opening them.

I figured out a really good way to zip files through PF if you have Stuff It.

Locate DropZip in your StuffIt Folder and drag that into your top toolbar of PathFinder. When you need to zip something just drag a file or files over the DropZip icon in your toolbar. Only downside is having to close the DropZip app when you're finished.
